Math's Problem

Today my group and I had to solve a problem, first it was so hard and when we got some help from our teacher she gave us a strategy and we used it and solve the other problems.

Maths - Problems

 Sarah has $288 in the bank. She then deposits her pay cheque for $127 from her part time job at PetCare. How much does she have now? - $280+$120=$400 $8+$7=$15 $400+$15=415 so sarah would have $415 money altogether

Sarah has $466 in her bank account and spends $178 on a new phone, how much money does she have left in her bank account? - $466-$170=$296 $296-$8=$288 so sarah would have $288 money left

Room 9 are selling muesli bars at lunchtime to raise money for their camp. They had 434 at the beginning of lunchtime and sold 179, how many did they have left to sell? - 434-179=255 so room 9 would have 255 muesli bars left

Faloa is helping his Mum build a path. There were 438 bricks in the pile and they used 169 of them yesterday, how many bricks have they got left for today? - 438-169=269 so Faloa and his mum would have 269 bricks left

Selena and her brother were counting sticks in the garden. Selena counted 259 then her brother did a second count and counted 435. What was the difference in their counts? -  Selena brother counted 435 more than selena and she counted 259

1. 412 - 342 =70       410-340 =70    2-2 = 0

2. 612+321=933      610+320=930   2+1=3      930+3=933

3. 978-568= 900-500=400  70-60=10 8-8=0 400+10+0=410

What I learn in Kiwican?

Today in Kiwi Can we learn about how to show Respect at different places or to others. We also learn how to play fairly and share with others so that was very cool about our discussion, first we talked about respect, Respect means that when someone is talking we should listen and  do eye contact with the person who is talking, also we have to show respect everywhere we go. Second was Fairness or Sharing, fairness means by if you are using like a Phone or a Ipad but if someone wants have a turn we should let them cause both of use will have fun together and will be happy, after that we had an Energizer and a activity it was every fun but sorry I forgot the names of the games but yeah those games were very fun. We finished off our session by playing a game of G.K.Q/Around The World but we were laughing and also having fun when we were playing that game so yeah but today I learn heaps about Respect and Fairness/Shearing.

Maths - What I learn Today?

Today we solve a problem in our groups. The problem was 923-587, each group had there own strategies,  but everyone had the same answer when we were sharing, we basically had the same strategie but I learn different kind of strategies like tidy numbers and rounding and compensating but in my group we did Place value Partition and algorithm.   

Water Fun Day

 Everyone was excited because it was Water Fun Day. This was placed at Glenbrae School, we started at 9:30, we had 6 activities and Room 7 and I first activitie was Lava Flow, we had to skoop some water out from the bucket using a cup and, then we had to walk on the blue bench jump down zig zag around the cones and through the hola hoop. After going through the hoop we had to pour the water inside of our cup into our bucket with our colour on the bucket.

Our second activity was Water side, we had to fill our cup with water from the bucket and then we had to slide down on the side but we still had to hold on to our cup but try to leave as much water inside of it. After we side down on the side and ran with our cup to pour it in our bucket and that was actually pretty fun, our third game was spongebobo we had to get the sponge put it in water and then we had to pass the sponge over our heads and under our legs and then have to run to our house bucket to go and squeeze out all the water that inside of the sponge.

Our fourth game was pools, we had to go to the swimming pool (At our school) we just had heaps of fun inside there cause we just played around inside the pool and it was cool and fun. Our fifth game was called Holy Mole, we had to skoop water inside on our cup but there were holes inside the cup, so we had to cover and try to leave as much water inside of the cup. After that we poured all the water inside of our bucket. It was pretty hard because we have to use a strategy to cover the hole in the cup.

Our last game was called Water balloon, we had to get a water balloon jump on the blue chairs and then jump down zig zag on the cones, go under the desk and over it and then go throw the hola hoop and then run to our bucket with our colour. That activity was alright cause my legs were sore, after that all of our activities were finished, so all houses got together and then our teacher told us who had the most water inside of there bucket was Kauri, they won the whole Water Fun day but it was a great day to be wet and have fun
