Something I did fun with my family

We got at the beach and the first thing I saw was everyone swimming,laughing,eating and playing games. We got out of the car and ran to play with the sand and jumped in the water.

When we were swimming my mum and dad were watching us and making lunch for us. We were still swimming then our mum and dad said’’Food is ready’’.

We were eating as a normal family and the sun was going down at the same time,then we heard a loud noise and were all scared,and I ran away to the tree but the hole time in was Fireworks.

The Fireworks were loud,going up high and looking beautiful. We were smiling,having fun and enjoying the colorful Fireworks,we were still eating and watching the Fireworks.

After the Fireworks were finished we pack up,had a last swim in the night for the first time,jumped in our car and went home. 

I enjoyed the Fireworks because it was colorful,loud and high. What I don’t like getting scared from the Fireworks, and next year i will like to come again and watch the Fireworks again. It was special for my family to be together and be a normal family at the beach.  

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today was the Manaaiakalani Film Festival 2019,at Sylvia park,we got in the movie theater and we saw 3 schools it was Point England,Glen Taylor and Glen Innes. The movies started and I was so excited to watch my class movie and some other school movies. After the movies were all finish,we all walked as a school to our bus, jumped in and went back to school and had lunch. I enjoy the Manaaiakalani Film Festival 2019 and I would like to come back next year.

Book Week

This week was Book week. There was

a play performed in our school hall on Tuesday.

The play was about the Treasure Hunt that

has been written by Craig Christie.

There were two tribes living on an island. These

two tribes blamed each other for stealing

each other songs.

The Treeland tribe was led by George and the Seaview Tribe was led by Jessica. These two characters teamed up to solve the problem about the lost treasure that was their song.

The problem was solved when they were able to put the torn map together and work out how to get to the treasure. They had to read three different books to solve the problem.

I really enjoyed this play because both the characters were very smart and talented. They sang very well and were also very hilarious.

Thank you Sam and Lydia for coming to our school. I hope to see you again next year.

Financial Literacy

We learnt about how to budget and save money. The other topics we learnt about were insurance,borrowing and lending,identity theft mortgage,trust and saving money.

Our tutors were Ema,Jane and Matt from price water house and cooper Accountany firm. I enjoyed all the sessions because the activities were very exciting and practical.

Culture clubs

I am feeling very amazed about taking part in

cultural activities at school this term.

Today I picked two cultural groups that I want to be in.

My first choice was Samoan and i picked Kiwi Can
jam as my second choice.

Being Cybersmart

To me, being Cybersmart is not sharing

private information online. Any information

shared online can becomes permanent ,can

be copied, shared and broadcasted. Remember

to be smart.

Statistic

For the last, 2 weeks Room 10 have been studying about Statistic.
Our focus question was what is the ethnic makeup of Glenbrae School.


We worked in groups of 4 and we carried out an intavour on our
class first there are six ethnic groups in Room 10.These groups
are Indians,Chinese,NZ Maoris,Samoans,CI Maoris and Tongans.
Out of 28 children in Room 10, there are 11 Tongans,6 Samoans,
6 CI Maoris,3 NZ Maoris,1 Indian and 1 Chinese.

Duffy Role Model Assembly

Yesterday, Glenbrae School had its Duffy Role Model Assembly.
Our Role Model was Sam James verlindn he is also known as Sam V.
Sam V is famous a musician,songwriter,singer and actor.

Sam spoke to us of the important books and reading because these
were the things which he become a musician. Sam study at the Auckland

University.

We had a lot of fun with Sam because he told us a game name
BOOM THUG. This game was Involved loud clapping. After that
he gave out the super Duffy books to each class.

I felt so amazed from his singing and his confident and his nice smile

On Saturday 16th 2019 I was on my mum’s phone
watching YouTube  waiting for my mum to come back
from Pak ‘n save. So when my mum came back from
Pak 'n save I turn on the PS4 and waited for it to load
up. After  it was on i did my password and invited my
friend to the party and to play Fortnite.

Next my friend i joined and we were played Duo’s.
My friend had killed everybody. He got 5 kills and
I got only 3 or 2 kills. We almost won
the game but we were last 4 people
and we died at the end.
So we went back to the lobby
and then my cousin joined the
lobby and the party so we changed
it to squads so us 3 can
play together. We jumped out
of the battle bus and landed
at Tilted Towers. I got hit by a
person and I got 2 kills but
my cousin and friend got 12 and 3 kills.

After it was 8:00pm we were still playing Fortnite.
We played a lot of game’s and we got tired so we
all played one more squad game then we will go
to sleep. We went in a game of Fortnite got into
the battle bus and landed at lazy links and my
friend killed everybody at lazy links but friend
not let me and my cousin and get that much kills.

So we ran to loot-lake and we killed everyone there
too. So we ran away from loot-lake and then
a squad landed on us and killed us all. So went
back to the lobby and said’’Goodbye’’
to each one of us. Then I turned
off the PS4 and said ‘’Goodnight’’
to everybody inside my house and
I jumped into my bed and went to sleep.
It was a lovely evening.

Who am I ?

My name is Alijon. I am 9 years old and I am a Samoa.
My dad works every day and my mum stay home and look
after my little siblings. I have 2 cool brothers and 1 beautiful
sister.

My favourite hobbies are Rugby, Soccer and playing some
Fortnite with my friends. My favourite food is Chicken and Rice.
My favourite colour is yellow and my favourite and
loving person is my mum. I love the fruit apple.

When I grow up I would like to be a rugby player.
