Learning about sentence starters

In Room 7 we learnt about Sentence Starters. We watched a video about it and then Room 7 wrote our own sentences.

Manu collected 183 stamps in January. By March he had 834. How many stamps did he add to his collected in February?

Strategies: 834 - 183 = 651

                  800 - 180 = 620

                  34 - 3 = 31

                  620 + 31 = 651                

                  

Fitness

Today at school we started off our day with Fitness.
The first thing we did was walking outside as a class, then
we got to the court. Then we warmed up in a circle to get ready
for a game of invisible touch. After the warm up we played a game.
The teams were Kowhai and Nikau and the other was Rata and Kauri,
then we got in our teams as a line then we started the game. Our teacher
Miss Raj called out each number then we ran around the courts then ran in
the middle of the court then those 2 or 3 people runs and touch each other
but Kowhai and Nikau won that game but I had fun a Fitness.    

Water Fun Day

Yesterday on Wednesday the 12 2020 Glenbrae had their Water Fun Day.  After our principal spoke, all four houses were ready to go then our day started. Room 7's first activity was swimming. 

We were so hyped but we got to the pool then we stopped at the gate then Miss Fire and Miss Kelly spoke to us. When we jumped in the pool then we just played around.

After our swimming activity we were off to our next activity. It was called Water boom so this game u have to stand in front of a cone then one person will throw a water balloon.

Then when it's the last person then the thrower scoops some water from the bucket with the cup then we run to put the water in our house bucket. But for that game Nikau won and I was pretty sad because we came last.

For our next activity it was Miss Kyees game. We had to scoop some water from the bucket then hop in the 2 hoops then run around the cone then run all the way to our house bucket.

Next it was our 4 activity. It was called Holy Holey, the game was we have to get water in the cup but the cup had holes but we had to protect the water then run and put the water in the bucket but that was hard because we had to run a lot of times. For the next activity it was sliding down so this activity we had to scope water then u have to slide down but when u slide down but u have to protect the water then run and put the water in our house bucket.

Next we had another cool activity. It was called spongebob, it was called spongebob because people were supposed to dip the sponge in the bucket which had water in it. Once we dipped it we had to run to our group bucket and squeeze the water out of the sponge into the bucket.  

Lastly the teachers were presenting the places of each team. Kowhai came 4th Kauri came 3rd Rata came 2nd and Nikau came 1st. It was a terrific day.
